Tasks
This position is responsible for facilitating the training for 2 warehouse locations in Atlanta for approximately 300 associates. The Training Specialist will conduct training for all warehouse staff as it relates to production functions, new associate training, continuous improvement, health, safety and environmental topics and compliance to policies and standards. Training is facilitated on the job and in classrooms.
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Conduct on the job training and certification on forklift operation and other warehouse equipment and machinery
Instruct associates on proper work procedures as it relates to packaging, quality control and computer training
Organize and schedule training sessions to meet time and content requirements
Document, track and file training records for each associate
Compile and analyze data for training department activities
Update and create training materials
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent is required; 1-2 years related college or university studies is preferred
Minimum of 2 years experience in a training or teaching function; experience working in a supply chain, logistics or related field is preferred
Strong computer skills in MS Office, specifically Excel with the ability to learn new systems quickly
Strong communication skills verbal and written
Strong facilitation skills in a classroom environment and 1 x 1 instruction
Ability to work in a fast paced environment and demonstrate strong organizational skills and decision making
