Used Automotive Parts Unpacker and Sorter

Currently looking to fill positions in a Starter/Alternator Core department. This departments main function is to receive used (Core) starters and alternators for processing. These parts are delivered to our warehouse where a group Unpacks the large seafreights (an order can be 20-1000 pieces), cuts the boxes to expose the parts and lifts them onto a conveyor. The conveyor takes the part to and individual who enters the part # into a computer and a location is generated. From there the part is sent down another conveyor to a group of people that take the part and sorts them into 1 of 3000 locations on the warehouse floor.
The work environment is a typical warehouse setting but all of the parts are used therefore very dirty.
The position is a standing position which requires a lot of lifting (up to 50lbs regularly throughout your entire shift) and a lot of walking (department is roughly 20,000 sq. feet). These positions require teamwork, dedication to the job and an ability to work hard throughout your entire shift.
This position is extremely physical and extremely demanding.
Working hours: 6:00a-2:30p Monday- Friday (OT as needed)
Basic functions of this job are:
Maintain a safe work environment.
Unpack/sort between 500-1000 starters and alternators daily
Maintain accurate layer counts for 3000 barrel locations
Participate in 5S standards and daily housekeeping.
Adhere to quality and productivity goals.
Be able to follow all written instructions and procedures related to the job.

The pay for this position is $9/hour. The position is Monday-Friday and you will be scheduled for 40 hours per week. This position requires someone who is dependable, accurate, self-motivated and follow all policy and procedures related to the position.
Minimum Hiring Criteria:
Must be 18 years of age
Must be able to provide at least 2 verifiable work references
Must meet customer screening requirements
Must be able to repetitively lift up to 50 lbs.
Must have a HS Diploma or GED to apply
