SUMMARY
The Patient Access Representative verifies eligibility, calculates and processes claims for reimbursement. Conducts research as necessary to resolve questionable claims. Processes prior approval requests and troubleshoot formulary issues. Enrolls patients into programs as appropriate, and assesses for accuracy with information provided by patient. Assists and inputs IVR (Interactive Voice Response) telephone request within Grady Health System for all pharmacies. Process approximately 100-150 incoming calls daily, fax and mail notices insuring that all patients' prescription refills are entered accurately.
QUALIFICATIONS
o High school graduate or GED required
o Prior experience in customer service, billing, cash collections, insurance, or directly related health care environment
o Knowledge of medical drug terminology preferred
o Minimum of 2 years call center and/or scheduling experience preferred
o Prior knowledge of hospital operations preferred
o Computer literate with the ability to learn customer service software applications and knowledge of Microsoft Word Applications, Siemens, OAS Gold health information system, programs preferred
o Professional verbal and written communication skills and the ability to type 30 wpm
o Exceptional telephone customer service etiquette
o Ability to work under stress and multi-task
o Ability to adhere to strict deadlines and details
o Ability to talk to customers to convey information effectively
o Ability to actively listen to customer
o Training and/or certification in medical (or pharmacy) billing preferred
o Ability to effectively communicate with individuals from all educational and socioeconomic levels (e.g. patients, family members, nurses, doctors, drug manufacturer representatives, pharmacist, etc.)
REQNUMBER: 6197-1AEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
