The database engineering team, within Enterprise Database Services, is chartered with providing end-to-end Database Management System (DBMS) architectures, testing and preparation of DBMS software bundles and client libraries, configurations for Oracle RAC, DataGaurd, OEM provisioning, Shared Database Farms, Virtualization solutions, Disaster Recovery, ITIL processes, DBMS technology trends, and the development of automation tools to dramatically standardize, simplify and optimize GM's database landscape.
About the role:
Oracle GoldenGate is the tool of choice for the continuous, real-time capture and delivery of data to & from heterogeneous systems as well as to our Enterprise Data Warehouse. This position evaluates and integrates software requirements & executes the implementation and support of Goldengate technology. The Engineering role also provides issue and problem resolution for simple to moderately complex issues and assists with performing disaster recovery exercises.

Responsibilities:
Create monitoring, failover and failback capability in the various deployment modes.
Responsible for designing, developing, testing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting simple to moderately complex components of the systems infrastructure.
Provide engineering, delivery and support of GoldenGate solutions within a UNIX, Windows, Oracle and Teradata environment
Setting up extracts and replicates and monitor the lag with automation.
Identify and implement design recommendations in support of new and changing needs of the business
Familiarity with rdbms to help setting up the golden gate process and working with the underlying tables for analysis.
Participate in a 24x7 On Call Rotation
Provide accurate and timely problem resolution with root cause analysis
Establish solid working relationships with other areas of IT to improve processes and procedures
Provide documentation inputs for install, upgrade and servicing such environment.
