This position is responsible for leading global market and business intelligence and analytics effort for a $2 billion building products manufacturer-- category leader. The Director leads the team which is providing analysis, synthesis and guidance related to corporate strategic planning, vertical markets planning and development and product lifecycle and portfolio management, from insights to support new product business case development to longitudinal studies designed to assess portfolio performance and ongoing management.
The ideal candidate is leading a team today in a B2B environment for a technology based product.
This position supports all strategic planning activities with an emphasis on enterprise-level strategic planning, serving as the primary point of contact for the development and ongoing management of the Corporate Situation Analysis. This position is also accountable for interfacing with Marketing Communications to support both primary and secondary research efforts related to brand assessments and brand building efforts, as well as campaign definition and development.
In addition, this position is also responsible for managing research and data vendor relationships, as well as serving as the primary point of contact regarding the collection, analysis, synthesis and dissemination of data related to industry associations and reporting. The Director of Business Intelligence and Market Insights will also be a key interface with the corporate customer training and education team to collect, analyze, synthesize and disseminate VOC related insights.
Responsibilities:
Lead team and collaboratively drive market, competitive and enterprise analytics efforts to guide strategic planning, vertical market development and product lifecycle and portfolio management efforts, as well as supporting brand management and campaign development priorities to support the achievement of stated enterprise objectives, including, performance KPIs and financial objectives.
Act as primary liaison in regard to primary and secondary research vendor relations and industry association reporting, from VOC/VOM initiatives to NEMA, ElectroFed and Energy Star reporting.
Direct team in leading analytic tool development and deployment related to business intelligence and market insights priorities in support of stated business objectives, such as SD AIPs, performance KPIs and financial objectives. Efforts include development and training regarding internal tool development, as well as training and deployment of third-part research sources, BI platforms and tool sets.
Manage research vendor and analytic vendor relationships and associated budget development and management.
Drive team in the continual monitoring, strategic assessment and effective dissemination of insights related to competitive trends and market developments, utilizing publicly available industry data, secondary research reports and primary research insights. Recommend actions based on strategic synthesis of data into key insights that inform and influence strategic planning, vertical market development and portfolio and lifecycle management.

Experience Required:
Bachelor's Degree, Economics, Econometric Modeling, Market Research or Marketing
10 years' experience in B2B business intelligence or market research
Demonstrated utilization of BI and market research analytic techniques and tool sets such as Spotfire, Tableau, Clear CI, conjoint analysis, multivariate analytics, etc. to analyze enterprise performance, market opportunities, market trends/dynamics and competitive landscape and performance
Vendor relationship management experience, including research budget management, with vendors such as IDC, McGraw-Hill, IHS, Global Insights, Gartner, CERA, etc.
Primary research project management and analytics experience, including VOC/VOM research and reporting
Demonstrated experience and success interfacing with and influencing the planning and direction setting efforts of senior executives in a B2B Fortune 1000 corporate environment
Experience effectively interfacing with and influencing stakeholders across a large corporate matrix organization, from direct reports and peers to senior executives, including C-level executives.
