Job Description:
As a macOS Endpoint Engineer, you will play a critical role in managing and maintaining the macOS endpoint environment within our organization. You will be responsible for designing, deploying, configuring, and supporting macOS devices, ensuring their security, performance, and reliability. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement best practices, policies, and procedures for managing macOS endpoints and supporting end-users. Additionally, you will stay informed about the latest macOS technologies and trends to drive innovation and optimize the macOS endpoint environment to meet the organization's needs.
Responsibilities:
Design, deploy, and configure macOS devices, including MacBooks, iMacs, and Mac Minis, in accordance with organizational standards and requirements. Manage macOS endpoint management solutions, such as Jamf Pro, to provision, configure, and maintain macOS devices at scale. Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and configurations to protect macOS endpoints from security threats, vulnerabilities, and malware. Monitor and troubleshoot macOS endpoint performance issues, including system crashes, slow performance, and software conflicts, and implement solutions to resolve them. Provide technical support and assistance to end-users experiencing macOS-related issues, including hardware and software troubleshooting, application installation, and system configuration. Collaborate with IT security teams to conduct regular vulnerability assessments, patch management, and compliance audits for macOS endpoints. Stay informed about the latest macOS updates, features, and technologies, and assess their impact on the organization's endpoint environment. Develop and maintain documentation, knowledge base articles, and training materials for macOS endpoint management and support. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT operations, help desk, and software development, to ensure alignment and integration with macOS endpoint management processes and workflows. Participate in project planning, implementation, and execution for macOS-related initiatives, such as hardware refreshes, OS upgrades, and software deployments.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field. Solid understanding of macOS operating system internals, architecture, and system administration best practices. Experience managing macOS endpoint management solutions, such as Jamf Pro, and configuring macOS devices using Apple Configurator. Strong knowledge of macOS security principles, including encryption, authentication, and access controls. Proficiency in scripting languages, such as Bash, Python, or AppleScript, for automating macOS system administration tasks. Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to diagnose and resolve macOS-related hardware and software issues. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders. Self-motivated and proactive, with a passion for learning and staying updated on the latest macOS technologies and trends. Relevant certifications, such as Jamf Certified Associate (JCA) or Apple Certified Support Professional (ACSP), are a plus.
