Director of ECAS Academic Programs at Emory University in Atlanta, GA
Description This position oversees the four premier merit-based scholarships offered by Emory College of Arts and Sciences. The largest of these is the Emory College Woodruff Scholars Program, which supports approximately 100 undergraduate scholars. Additional scholarships include the George R. Jenkins Scholarship and the Martin Luther King, Jr.-Robert W. Woodruff Scholarship, and the program also provides support for the Robert T. Jones Scholars exchange program with St. Andrews University. The Scholars Program offers transformative co-curricular opportunities to high-promise students, builds a scholar community that helps to enhance Emory's intellectual environment, and supports scholars in making a positive community impact both during and after their time at Emory. There are approximately 2300 Emory College scholar alumni in a variety of fields, located across the world, who are excelling in their own work and making a difference in their communities.
Job Description:
Responsible for an academic program within the Emory College of Arts and Sciences (ECAS). Directs the planning, development, and implementation of programs. Develops long- and short-term goals and objectives for the program. Plans, administers, and monitors program budgets. Supervises staff and coordinates program efforts with other stakeholders in the University. May represent the University in national and international meetings. MINIMUM
Qualifications:
A master's degree and three years of related experience, preferably in a university setting. PREFFERED QUALIFICATION:
Responsible for strategic planning, budget oversight and projections, and supervision of day-to-day operations. Supervise a team of five full-time staff members and 8-10 student fellows who work for the program. The director leads program staff in defining learning outcomes, creating assessment plans, and establishing program policies and requirements. Administering the application and award process for summer enrichment funding and teaching a scholar-specific section of Emory's 1-credit college transition course for first-year students. Coordinates with the undergraduate advising team, the National Scholarships & Fellowships Program, the Undergraduate Research Program, and other core programs that enhance scholars' experience and support academic achievement.
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
