JOB RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES BY COMPETENCY Functional Expertise:
Oversee and manage the financial, accounting, and bookkeeping functions of the credit union to include AP, AR, budgets, GL, financial analysis, financial reporting and recordkeeping and taxes. Provide end of month close and produce monthly financial statements. Responsible for financial reporting, financial analyses and forecasting reports on monthly, quarterly, and/or annual basis to CEO and the Board of Directors. Responsible for NCUA 5300 reports, 990 reporting and tax reporting. Responsible for preparation of budgets and periodic analysis of variances. Asset Liability Management. Cash Management and Investment Portfolio Management. Liquidity Management and compliance with Liquidity Policy and Contingency Funding Plan. Business Acumen:
Develop, implement, and evaluate policies and procedures for the accounting department. Ensure that policies and procedures reflect current regulations and that the accounting procedures are in strict compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Exhibits well-developed communication and decision-making abilities. Independently and creatively solves problems. Identify and implement process improvements. Engagement:
Participate in determining loan rates. Assist with major purchasing decisions for capital equipment, systems, and other capital asset expenditures. Serve as the credit union's liaison with regulatory examiners and auditors. Works with internal customers and members to answer questions and resolve problems. Act like an owner to deliver results and create value for our members and stakeholders. Conduct special projects as needed or requested. Driving Results:
Monitor cost control activities. Approve and implement cost control strategies on an as needed basis. Identify areas for improvement, changes in procedures, new developments, or changes in services. Keep staff up to date on trends and general credit union information. Responsible for monitoring progress against defined goals/deliverables; holds self and other accountable for results. QUALIFICATIONS Education, Certifications/Licenses:

BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance or related field Preferred:
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Related Work
Experience:
Required:
8 years of progressive leadership and/or management experience Thorough knowledge of financial and accounting practices and principles Preferred:
Credit Union or Banking experience Knowledge of NCUA, IRS and Federal Reserve Bank reporting Investment, ALM, risk management and finance experience
Salary Range:
$200K -- $250K
Minimum Qualification
AccountingEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
