Engineering Manager - Biz Web Foundation at Yelp in Remote
The Biz Web Foundation team is laying a new foundation for our Yelp for Business site that enables us to more efficiently create modern, beautiful user experiences. Our mission is to build a compelling experience for business owners that keeps them coming back and to enable other teams to more easily deliver value. As manager of the Biz Web Foundation team, you will lead, grow, and inspire an amazing team of engineers and help them reason about difficult architectural choices that will advance the state of the art for web development at Yelp. You will lead complex technical projects and a team of software engineers. You will provide frequent and constructive feedback. You will help the team stay happy and productive by removing obstacles and optimizing team processes. You will work with the team to craft a vision and help get it there. You will engage with the broader community of web developers at Yelp. You will coach and mentor engineers of all experience levels. You will participate in the hiring process and help us find five-star talent. You will foster and build a fun, diverse, and inclusive culture that reflects Yelp's values . What It Takes To Succeed:
You have a background or strong interest in web technologies or frameworks. You consider yourself a thoughtful, deliberative, and emotionally grounded leader. You have previous experience as a manager of an engineering team. You are an excellent communicator, both in person and in technical writing. You take a people first approach and care deeply about nurturing a healthy team culture. You are comfortable in your favorite modern programming language:
Javascript, Python, Java, etc.
Salary Range:
$100K -- $150K
Minimum Qualification
Technology ManagementEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
