Finance SOX Lead

Position Overview The Novelis Corporate Finance Process & Controls team is seeking a Finance SOX Lead. The person in this role will report to the Global Head Process & Controls. The ideal candidate will be responsible for review and testing processes and controls across the Finance organization to identify gaps and enhancement opportunities. This position will liaise with Finance associates to coordinate SOX testing along with overseeing audit findings and recommendations to ensure robust remediation. Responsibilities & Qualifications
Responsibilities:
Work with regional SOX coordinators, internal audit, external service providers and external auditors in executing the annual SOX 404 plan Assist in overall oversight and management of Company's SOX compliance efforts Perform process and control walkthroughs with process owners, help update process documentation and conduct tests of design Gather key control documentation to execute tests of operating effectiveness Conduct and document tests of operating effectiveness for key controls within SOX testing repository Communicate status of testing approach and results of testing with Internal Controls team, external auditor, and management, as appropriate Facilitate SOX audits and implement solutions for remediation Develop understanding of our core business processes and financial transactions to look for opportunities to help management in gaining process efficiencies and control optimization Collaborate and coordinate with key stakeholders to ensure that relevant risks are identified, addressed with well-designed controls that are operating effectively Maintain current awareness and documentation of SOX compliance rules and regulations Assist in the global alignment of controls across the company Develop and maintain relationships with various departments and external auditors on a global basis and highlight best business and control practices Evaluate business changes and system projects to determine the extent of impact to the SOX program and provide a SOX scoping opinion that is supported by data and knowledge of the business Assist in incorporating any company acquisitions into the SOX compliance program Assist in developing and providing training and education to process owners around SOX topics, including sufficiency of control evidence, management review controls, key reports (IPE), etc. Minimum
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Finance, Accounting, or related field 5
years of total experience in accounting, finance, or information technology Experience with SOX requirements General knowledge of COSO Framework and SEC rules and requirements Ability to conduct analysis of financial processes and controls Advanced level of presentation (verbal/written) and relationship building skills Strong knowledge of financial controls Intermediate computing skills and experience with various financial systems/applications Solid analytical skills Demonstrable professional integrity Intermediate understanding of regulatory requirements Preferred
Qualifications:
CPA, CIA, CISA certifications a plus Experience working within a large, multi-national company Experience working in accounting firm and/or consulting services Accounting/Finance experience in a manufacturing environment preferred Process improvement and change management experience a plus Experience with SAP, Oracle Financials and OneStream a plus #LI-Hybrid#LI-GP1
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
Auditing & ComplianceEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
