TRC is seeking a highly motivated Senior Electrical Engineer with an active Professional Engineer license (P.E.) to join our growing team. MUST HAVE a Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensed in any state with the ability to obtain licensure in Texas. Multiple jurisdictions/states are highly desired but not required. The ideal candidate must be passionate about engineering and enjoy working with a talented team of designers, engineers, project managers, and other technical staff in preparing designs for electrical, instrumentation and controls, and SCADA systems for water, wastewater and other industrial projects for a variety of great clients. Must have 8 - 15 years of experience in design of low voltage electrical power distribution systems for industrial facilities. This position is REMOTE and can work anywhere in the continental United States. Travel is required and ranges from 25% on average up to 50%. The Senior Electrical Engineer will report to the Director of Electrical Engineering and be responsible for electrical design and engineering services during construction for assigned projects.
Responsibilities:
Serve as the Electrical Engineer of Record (EOR) on assigned projects and prepare detailed design drawings, specifications, and construction cost estimates. Perform field investigations at the project site, when required, to obtain relevant information required to complete the design of assigned projects. Efficiently communicate design concepts and drawing requirements to Computer Aided Design (CAD) production team members. Participate in the internal and external Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) process to ensure designs are prepared in accordance with industry standards, best practices and client expectations. Serve as the Project Manager on select electrical projects with responsibility for client communications and ensuring that project deliverables are prepared in accordance with the allocated budget and schedule. Maintain a strong understanding of applicable codes and industry standards including NFPA, IEEE and ISA. BS in Electrical Engineering MUST HAVE a Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensed in any state with the ability to obtain licensure in Texas. Multiple jurisdictions/states are highly desired. 8 - 15 years of experience in design of low voltage electrical power distribution systems for industrial facilities. Strong understanding of the latest edition of the National Electrical Code (NEC). Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Strong understanding of fundamental electrical engineering concepts including conductor selection and sizing, overcurrent protection, voltage drop, load flow and short circuit analysis and application of applicable codes and industry standards. Experience designing motor controls for industrial applications. Experience preparing conduit and cable schedules for electrical projects. Experience working with CAD production staff in developing construction drawings. Ability to coordinate and work efficiently with other design team discipline engineers including Civil, Mechanical, Process and Structural. Experience selecting and specifying low voltage power distribution equipment including automatic transfer switches, switchboards, switchgear, motor control centers and panelboards. Specific experience in the municipal water and wastewater industries. Ability and willingness to learn new skills and advance technical expertise. Preferred
Qualifications:
Experience with renewable energy development projects to include photovoltaic (PV), wind, and battery storage projects. Experience working in an engineer, procure, construct (EPC) and/or Design-Build (D/B) project structure. Experience utilizing power system modeling software to prepare load flow, short circuit, protective device coordination and arc flash calculations. SKM, ETAP, or equivalent. Experience utilizing lighting design software to prepare photometric studies. AGi32, or equivalent. Experience with industrial control systems to include selection and application of programmable logic controllers (PLC), Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and associated Human Machine Interfaces (HMI). Experience with application and specification of instrumentation and control (I&C) components for process automation and control systems to include level, flow, pressure and temperature monitoring and control. Familiarity/experience with Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems including industry standard network architecture and communications. Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
