QA manager develops and directs quality assurance procedures so that a company's products meet internal and external standards before shipment to customers.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
Ensure adherence to food safety & quality management systems and health and safety regulations.
Manage team of QA & QC technicians.
Monitor all operations that affect quality.
Coordinate and run all customer, regulatory and SQF audits and report all findings to the management team for corrective actions.
Determine, negotiate, and agree on in-house procedures, standards, and specifications with management team.
Write and Implement policies and procedures to be in line with SQF, FSMA and must be able to identify gaps in these areas.
Assess and ensure customer requirements are met.
Perform all validations and verifications of the FSMS (Food Safety Management System).
Responsible for product holds and inventory of products on hold.
Environmental, Allergen & Sanitation monitoring (quarterly, weekly & daily swabbing of designated areas).
Submit environmental and finished product samples to third party lab for microbial, quality indicator, shelf life and water activity testing, Train employees on-site according to companies training matrix.
Resolve and record customer complaints in company software program.
Coordinate recalls and bi-annual traceability studies with recall team.

Responsible for nutritional and ingredient specifications on new or R&D items.
Keep records of quality reports, statistical reviews, and relevant documentation.
Other duties as required.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or Associate's with experience in the field.
Must have good written and oral communication skills.
Excellent organizational and leadership abilities.
Proven experience as a quality assurance manager or relevant role.
(Preferred) Thorough knowledge of methodologies of quality assurance and standards.
Previous managerial experience in food industry is a bonus.
Knowledge and ability in the use of a personal computer and software applications (e.
g.
Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc.
).
Must have at least 5 years of experience.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
