Worker's Comp/Lost Time Adjuster Pay range:

Qualifications:
Licensed Worker's Compensation Claims Adjuster in Atlanta, Georgia.
This is a full-time position working during normal hours of 8:
00 am to 5:
00 pm.

Responsibilities:
Investigates claims as reported and determine injured worker's eligibility for workers' compensation benefits.
Administers indemnity and medical benefits for valid workers' compensation claims.
Manages the progression of the claim's process through collaboration with employers, physicians, nurses, attorneys, and other parties as needed.
Determines if subrogation exists and takes the steps necessary to initiate recovery efforts.
Performs all file handling within state statutes, client claims handling guidelines, and best practices.
Sets initial reserves on new claims and reviews reserves on established claims.
Pays bills on claims (medical, rehabilitation, defense attorney) Maintains contact with the Injured Worker and the medical professionals concerning the status of the injury and plans for treatment.
Assesses settlement decisions and opportunities.
Is present at mediations, either by phone or in person.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
Experience may be substituted for degree.
7-10 years minimum prior claims experience with worker's comp claims adjusting.
Must have at least 5 years of Litigation experience.
Must have worked complex Workers' Compensation cases.
Must have claims negotiating skills with Attorney's and Claimants who are unrepresented.
Must be Georgia licensed with experience handling Lost Time Worker's Compensation Claims.
Knowledge of Workers' Compensation claims management and best claim practice guidelines.
Ability to perform the job functions under the supervision of others, while remaining acutely aware of goals, expectations, and deadlines.
Ability to multi-task with various tasks involved in Workers' Compensation claims.
Ability to acquire a working knowledge of applicable rules and regulations and/or specialized industry knowledge related to the functional area.
Provide Program technical assistance as applicable.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to work independently, and effective interpersonal skills.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
All other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
