Regional Maintenance Engineer

Position SummaryThe Regional Maintenance Engineer is responsible for fulfilling the technical aspects of the maintenance contract, ensuring that facilities are well maintained and operable, and for managing the maintenance staff under her/his supervision.
She/he serves as the technical spokesperson for the facility during client meetings and serves the role of lead technician.
Assigns and schedules work, answers questions, and serves as primary quality control inspector.
The RME may spend up to 80% of her/his time performing work orders as required.
Interfaces with subcontractors on all requisitioned work assignments to achieve full contract compliance.
Recruits, hires, trains and manages regional technical staff.
Direct supervision of employees to include, hire, fire, and performance managements.
oEvaluates staff and makes promotional and disciplinary recommendations; ensures staff is trained in complex maintenance activities and is following established, standard operating procedures.
oReviews job requests and work orders daily to determine workload priorities.
Assigns work to staff and monitors progress towards completion.
oSupervises corrective and preventive maintenance activities on MEP systems to provide continuous performance of HVAC, electricity, gas, life safety, security, and other systems required for operations.
oPerforms routine facility inspections for conformance with operational and safety requirements and standards.
oEnsures proper documentation in CMMS system of work performed.
Maintains accurate records.
Completes all paperwork and requested or required reports in a timely and accurate manner.
Manages regional profit and loss statement according to guidelines established by corporate management.
oImplements, monitors, and follows policies and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and provide efficient use of labor and materials.
oRequisitions tools, equipment, and supplies required for operations.
oFollows strict tool and other policies established by assigned correctional facilities.
Trains staff on tool control policies and ensures compliance.
oProvides training and orientation to improve work performance, provide safety, and acquaints staff with company and client policies and procedures.
oInforms and confers with Director of Operations/ROM to resolve facility problems and personnel issues.
oKeeps Director of Operations/ROM and CGL Facility Management informed of the progress and status of all open work orders, projects, staff attendance, and other activities to help ensure adequate use of resources and timely completion of work orders in a cost-effective manner.
oBecomes familiar and ensures compliance with OSHA regulations and standards.
oInteracts professionally with the public, vendors and staff; maintains effective working relationships and works in cooperation with the site management team to effectively meet agency and CGL objectives.
oResponds to all emergencies as requested in compliance with contract requirements.
Essential FunctionsoPrepares records, reports, and other documentation related to work performed in an accurate and timely manner.
oEnsures team completes all work per the standards of the contractual agreements with the client, as well as CGL standards for quality and accuracy; and all OSHA codes and regulations.
oComplete all required compliance, safety and developmental training as assigned.
