Your JobGeorgia-Pacific is recruiting for a Manager - Manufacturing Services to join our Continuous Manufacturing Group Center of Excellence (COE) team that is part of the corporate central capability group.
The successful candidate will provide direction to discrete services personnel, both hourly and salaried, supporting Georgia Pacific papermaking services that are utilized on paper-making assets across North American facilities.
Our TeamThis role will also identify and develop future COE service capabilities based on the needs of our manufacturing facilities.
The Manufacturing Services Manager role does require domestic travel (approx.
60%) regularly and does not require relocation.
What You Will Do Prioritize, coordinate, and manage the effective utilization of our current services capability with high booking rates.
Monitor and report on the value of being a preferred service provider.
Manage escalations and priority response needs for provided service Ensure alignment and transparency between the local facility, other central capability teams, and the COE team regarding objectives and cost for any services provided.
This will require identification of critical metrics for success, as well as a continued review of costs Assist asset owners in prioritizing and executing routine paper machine services that are required to meet and exceed best practice expectations Coordinate with vital internal constituencies and OEM / Supplier service providers to drive consistency and accountability for paper machine services (performance guarantees, terms and conditions, base service expectations, reporting expectations, etc.
) Help define preferred alternatives for OEM or third-party service to facilities Plan for and manage the sustainability of the service offerings through attrition of resources and future retirements to ensure continuous availability of quality service to manufacturing sites.
Identify opportunities, develop VSWs, and drive pilots/execution for future discrete technical service offerings that may be profitable to develop in-house capabilities (machine alignment, outage mechanical support, central HSV support, centralized QCS support, etc.
) Coordinate with facility personnel, ACOs, Paper Platform Leaders, and Paper Capital team to help drive standardization of equipment/ vendor selection for new capital based on feedback from the manufacturing services team.
Act as owner of paper team troubleshooting and diagnostic equipment and work with team members and contract service providers to maintain equipment in a performance condition Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) 5 years of experience in manufacturing service role(s) supporting industrial operations.
Knowledge and expertise in one or more specific paper-making equipment and process areas:
drying systems, wet end operations, stock preparation, MAC1 controls, and winder/roll handling Able to read and interpret piping and instrumentation diagram (P&IDs), layout drawings, and mechanical drawings Competency with Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.
Willing and able to travel up to 60% of the time Willing and able to work in operating environments that include platforms and catwalks, elevated temperatures, and variable humidity levels Willing and able to work occasional weekends, nights, and holidays for emergency response as needed For this role, we anticipate paying $140K - $180K per year.
