Summary:
The Production Planner is responsible for the creation and management of the manufacturing production plant's plan/schedule, line capacity analysis, daily production line schedules, and plant capacities.
The Production Planner will continually monitor incoming orders, supply chain and inventory levels, to minimize the negative impact on production.
The Production Planner will collaborate with other departments as well as the management team to ensure company and facility goals, including successful order fulfillment, on-time shipping, manufacturing efficiencies, safety, dump/damage, and other cost reduction initiatives are achieved.
General
Responsibilities:
Create detailed production schedules for a manufacturing facility Ensure bill of material (BOM) items are ordered and available to meet manufacturing needs Prioritize orders based on customer delivery requirements and process capacity Analyze and monitor product line capacity and make recommendations on expansion/efficiency to ensure adequate capacity to support finished good deliverables Provide timely feedback to customer service team on delivery dates changes Work with the supervisors daily on production goals Attend daily production meeting outlining production requirements for all shifts Analysis of customer demand (orders) against forecast and production capacity to determine order confirmation dates Development of product plans and associated tasks for multiple production lines ensuring optimization of efficiency and productivity Monitor the execution of the production plan resolving and escalating potential issues in a timely fashion.
Accountable for maintaining finished goods safety stock levels in accordance with customer forecast order demand Work Environment:
Will work in an office setting Light physical work may be required Required to sit at a computer for long periods of time throughout the day Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree required in Business or equivalent work experience is preferred.

years of planning & scheduling experience; preferably in a food manufacturing setting Experience with ERP/ MRP systems Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and computer-based applications.
Knowledge of production/manufacturing process Strong mathematical, analytical and technical skills using material requirements planning and scheduling software Ability to complete/resolve complex task with little supervision Skill in organization and prioritization with attention to detail.
Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs Strong team player and leader with the ability to work across multiple functions and disciplines.
Will perform other duties as needed or assigned.
