Job Description:
The Quality Assurance Technician position is responsible for executing all quality procedures, inspections, and required laboratory test to ensure products meet or exceed the written specifications.
Essential Job Functions:
Responsible for accurately reporting and recording data in daily HACCP documents and on customer-facing documents.
Responsible for validating SOPs through microbiological analysis, and use data along with knowledge and experience to make decisions to determine proper actions.
Sample collection/inspection/preparation, analytical testing, interpretation, recording and reporting of analytical results in the appropriate quality system.
Performs calibrations, or verifications to ensure accuracy of equipment and assists with basic troubleshooting.
Ability to apply concepts such as percentages, ratios, proportions and dilutions to practical situations.
Knowledge of HACCP, SQF and GMP.
Instrumentation knowledge:
Tablets, Thermometers, Basic Titration.
Conducting safety and quality checks at required frequencies.
Assist in inventory management of chemicals, personal protective equipment and production.
Assists management in monitoring and training production personnel in GMP and GHP to ensure food safety, quality, regulatory compliance, and adherence to Safe Quality Food policies.
Effective communication skills.
Ability to solve practical problems and make timely decisions with limited amount of information.
Ensure Good Manufacturing Practices are adhered to at all times.
Requirements:
Prior experience with food (produce, meat or consumer goods) Comfortable with working in cold environments Have good attention to detail Familiar with Pre-op inspection Familiar with environmental and product sampling, Prior experience with HACCP/Food Safety Can work with minimal supervision, A stable work history, Reliable transportation Must be at least 18 years of age Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug test Need waterproof safety shoes Physical Requirements:
Capable of working in a cold noisy environment; approximately 34-38 degrees.
Ability to push up to 50 lbs.
Ability to pull up to 50 lbs.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
