The Baggage Concierge Supervisor will take accountability for safety, operation standards, policy implementation, client relations, and financial performance for the baggage concierge operations.
Establishing shift assignments for both fulltime and part-time employees; Monitoring and responsibility for the safe and efficient operation of baggage concierge operation Responsible for equipment and ensuring its safe and efficient operating status; Conferring with other supervisors and managers to coordinate activities with other departments or handlers; Determining manpower requirements; ensuring disciplinary procedures are conducted in a fair, timely, and consistent manner; Ability to comply with attendance/tardiness standards.
Able to perform under pressure and within fixed time constraints Ensures necessary ground equipment is available for all upcoming tasks Follows and complies with all federal, state, municipal, airport authority, and carrier rules and regulations Ensure crews are being briefed before flights on positions to take and how tasks will work Collect checked luggage from facility and transport across the AOA to approved drop point at the terminal in compliance with TSA and airline security requirements.
Coordinate with airline staff at luggage drop point to ensure luggage is inserted into the hold baggage system (HBS).
Collect boarding passes and bag tags issued by the airlines at the main terminal and bring back to facility.
Collect checked luggage at the first available drop point, as agreed with each airline, and transport across the AOA to the facility in accordance with TSA, CBP and airline security requirements.
Safely lift, load, unload and transport baggage to and from the facility Protect baggage and other equipment from damage, loss and weather conditions Drive and operate ground equipment and vehicles Assist with record-keeping and documentation to ensure correct handling of baggage Adhere to safety guidelines and maintain safe working conditions for yourself and others Communicate with managers and lead agents to manage daily schedules Report equipment problems and breakdowns to facilitate fast repairs Other duties as assigned Requirements Must be at least 18 years of age Able to work in extreme conditions, such as hot and cold weather, as well as small spaces High school diploma or equivalent, such as successful completion of a GED Familiarity with basic computer programs to assist with record-keeping and baggage routing Possess a valid driver's license and have a good driving record Pass a physical agility test, depending on the airline Strong teamwork and collaboration skills to help achieve team goals Excellent verbal and written communication skills, such as email and phone Flexible schedule allowing work during nights, weekends and holidays Adaptability to changing priorities and time management skills.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
