Job Purpose:
Technical liaison for Durst NA and Vanguard with OEM ink suppliers.
Will work closely with manufacturer R&D group as well as communicate to CEO, VP of Sales, and Service Director about possible new developments to make Durst/Vanguard ink the best in the market (make Durst/Vanguard inks a competitive advantage).
Support service and sales by being the technical expert on ink.
Work with R&D and ink manufacturer(s) to increase overall knowledge of ink and how it relates to printing performance.
Assist customers with applications issues to maximize the print quality.
This will involve color management, substrate and ink relationship, identifying optimal ink set, and workflow.
Act as information focal point for ink product performance and quality considerations.
Justify, document, and coordinate ink product corrective actions with suppliers.
Specific Job
Responsibilities:
Provide telephone and onsite field support as seen needed.
Support trade shows with attendance as needed.
Partner with sales teams to identify new ink development opportunities and ensure optimization of current products.
As a subject matter expert, benchmark all existing products to identify gaps and potential improvements.
Evaluate/test new ink options to improve ink/product performance.
Proactive planning and updating of customer when there is an ink batch/product issue.
TPM owns the issue and the customer.
Update Durst management regularly with all open issues.
Responsible for recommending and implementing ink performance certifications.
Ensure regulatory compliance for all products.
Work with ink manufacturers to proactively address changes to components as needed.
Provide technical information for support of new customers and sales team.

Qualifications:
In-depth understanding of the digital UV inkjet industry technical requirements Understanding of material and ink compatibility; why some inks work well with certain applications and others do not 5 or more years of prior experience with Ink/material testing and development preferred Bachelors degree in related field preferred Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent written and communication skills Perform with minimal direction and independent problem solving Excellent customer relations skills Experienced product planning skills and a solid business sense Willingness for travel 50+% Ability to safely lift up to 25 pounds Ability to see broad color spectrum Recommended Skills Analytical Color Management Commercial Awareness Communication Customer Relationship Management Problem Solving Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
