Bookkeeper / Accountant (Contract to Hire | to $80K)
Updated 1-10-24Vaco Atlanta has just received a brand new Bookkeeper / Accountant order in downtown Atlanta).
This role is not being posted by the company we are recruiting for and we are the only firm working on it.
We're looking for a solid jack of all trades smaller company accountant candidate for a soup to nuts type role incorporating AP, AR, GL, month-end closing support; and even some transactional accounting (AR, AP, etc).
Targeted pay for this role is up to $80,000 and the company is growing fast with a busy 2024 planned.
This is a full-time, contract-to-hire role and requires a hybrid work schedule in Atlanta, GA.
As a Staff Accountant / Bookkeeper, you will compile data, compute fees and charges, and prepare invoices for billing purposes.
Responsibilities of the Bookkeeper / Accountant include:
Processing invoices from multiple vendors and reconciling purchasing orders to vendor invoices Checking figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes Debiting, crediting, and totaling accounts on Excel spreadsheets and databases using NetSuite Perform required reconciliations Review all major general ledger accounts for accuracy Assist with Cash Flow calculations and projections Accounts payable and receivable support Assist Controller with financial statement preparation File Sales/Use Tax Returns and Business Property Tax Returns Other duties as needed Requirements A bachelor's degree is preferred but not required 5
years' experience in accounting or bookkeeping and generally accepted accounting principles.
Working knowledge of QuickBooks is preferred and a high proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential.
The candidate should also be proficient in the following skills:
analyzing information, dealing with complexity, reporting research results, data entry skills, accounts payable and receivable, month-end close support and journal entries, attention to detail, and thoroughness.
Proximity to the client's location in South Atlanta will be considered Recommended Skills Accounts Payable Accounts Receivable Attention To Detail Billing Calculations Data Entry Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
