8K a year Airport Security Representative I General Description and Classification Standards Assists in overseeing the daily operations of the computerized access system, reports on security deficiencies, acts as lead worker with junior staff on airport security duties.
Perform duties related to aviation security, physical security, access control, CCTV monitoring, and customer service.
Supervision Received Direction received is focused on accomplishing objectives which are outlined in policy and procedures on airport security.
Works with other staff with responsibility for completion of assigned tasks.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities These are typical responsibilities for this position and should not be construed as exclusive or all inclusive.
May perform other duties as assigned.
Operate the computerized access control system, and monitor the closed circuit television system to ensure surveillance of access points and control access of people and vehicles onto secured areas and other restricted areas of the airport are accomplished.
Provide assistance to persons requesting access, or those not familiar with access control procedures, such as contacting parties that do not have the required authorization in order to minimize delays or interruptions of normal business.
Perform airport security radio communications and telecommunications duties for the Aviation Security Division by monitoring the assigned frequencies and dispatching appropriate resources to affected areas.
Perform paging and information functions utilizing a public address system, voice communications console and data terminal.
Receive and process information using various types of computerized communications equipment including two-way radio frequencies, access control monitoring system and telephone systems which requires the ability to think clearly and quickly gather, evaluate and transmit information accurately.
In an effort to properly monitor access control doors throughout the airport, must be familiar with the Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) Surveillance functions.
Must be well versed in the use of computerized access control systems.
Must possess the ability to monitor multiple radio frequencies while addressing telephone calls or other radio traffic.
Ability to troubleshoot equipment failures and notify the proper agencies for repairs a must.
Maintain permanent records of daily events.
Decision Making Follows standardized procedures and written instructions to accomplish assigned tasks.
Leadership Provided May instruct less experienced staff in completing assigned duties.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
