Paralegal IV - Municipal Governance

Salary:
Commensurate with Experience

This position is responsible for:

Following legislative initiatives and activities and providing detailed reports and summaries as to how proposed legislative initiatives may impact the City; monitoring and providing updates on legislative procedures and cycles to staff.

Cite checking legal pleadings to ensure citations are current, accurate, and good law.
Research legal issues and prepare memorandum/summaries and oversee the drafting of client and legal correspondence and documents such as City legislation, memorandums of understandings, intergovernmental agreements, and other contracts.

Support attorneys in processing and management of various legal requests, including litigation support requests.
Maintaining and updating case or matter status in the case/document/matter management system.

Arranging conferences or meetings between government officials and corporate/community representatives as needed, to gain clarity on a political position before it moves to the legislature and prior to it being routed for approval; coordinating the development of proposed legislation and policies to departmental management and making recommendations of the same.

Staffing committees and preparing policy briefs and other information for committee members as needed.

Providing technical direction and guidance to subordinate staff responsible for specialized areas of legislative analysis as needed.

Establishing and maintaining key contacts with various departments and stakeholders; may also coordinate and maintain the subject matter attorney contact list for use by the Mayor s Office and the Georgia General Assembly.

Supporting projects, including, but not limited to, regulatory research projects, and drafts policy/certificate/plan document provisions which meet City objectives.

Performing intellectual property and trademark research as needed.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
