Description In this role, you will have the opportunity to work in one of best ASHI-Accredited HLA Labs in the country with world-renown Medical Directors as part of a leading teaching hospital. This role will provide exposure to complex situations and will require analytical and problem solving skills. We are a team of 38 and looking for a flexible team player to join. 45PM - 11:
15PM, Sunday - Thursday Performs standardized and high-complexity histocompatibility testing on various types of clinical samples. May perform tests in one scientific discipline or perform selected tests in multiple disciplines (crosstrain DNA/serology). Tests may include:
HLA antibody screen and identification, crossmatching, typing, and engraftment monitoring. Contribute to sample processing, test preparation, testing results, and generate reports. Serve as a technical resource for lower level technologist. Uses knowledge of various complex laboratory techniques and procedures to generate quantitative and qualitative observations and initiate problem solving processes if indicated. Must be able to take on-call assignments for nights, holidays, and weekends on a rotating basis. Other duties may also be assigned. MINIMUM
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in medical technology or a chemical, physical or biological science. Other bachelor's degree will be accepted if graduated from an accredited school of medical technology or if science and math coursework meet requirement of certifying agency. Bachelor's degree may be waived for a medical technologist who was ASCP certified in the years prior to the bachelor's degree requirement by ASCP and a HEW/HHS technologist certified by Health and Human Services. Two years of medical technology or HLA experience. (Medical Laboratory Technician experience is pro-rated). Certification by one of the following accreditation agencies:
MT (ASCP), MLS(ASCP) or categorical, MT(NCA), MT(AMT), MT(HHS or HEW), CHT(ABHI), CHS(ABHI). HLA Technologist I-IV, Salary:
$27.45-$60.04/hour The grade and salary of the position are based on specific criteria met within the qualifications of each level, relevant experience, skills, performance and internal equity. This position is eligible for shift differentials. Additional Details PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (Medium):
20-50 lbs; 0-33% of the work day (occasionally); 11-25 lbs, 34-66% of the workday (frequently); 01-10 lbs, 67-100% of the workday (constantly); Lifting 50 lbs max; Carrying of objects up to 25 lbs; Occasional to frequent standing & walking, Occasional sitting, Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing), Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
