Experis Finance is currently seeking a Senior Sales and Use Tax Accountant for a temp-to-perm opportunity with our client in NE Atlanta.
Senior Tax Accountant/Senior Accountant
Senior staff accountant responsible for developing strong partnerships with internal operations groups and other accounting, financial, and regulatory groups to assist in reconciliations, analysis, decision making and researching complex sales & use tax issues. Sales and use tax research experience, especially in the taxation of software products and/or services, is a plus.
Responsibilities
Reconcile sales tax data including general ledger accounts
Manage sales and use tax returns outsourced compliance process including filings, payments and notices
Manage business annual report filings outsourced process
Research customer information and invoicing to assist with resolution of customer sales tax disputes
Assist Tax Manager in researching and responding to both internal and external tax questions regarding taxability of the Company's products and services, tax exemptions, etc.
Assist with sales tax audits
Prepare property tax returns
Assist with other tax responsibilities such as making estimated payments, preparing forms and various reconciliations
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
3 - 6 years of accounting/tax experience
CPA certification is a plus
Excellent organizational and verbal/written communication skills
Highly organized with the ability to multi-task and to meet deadlines
Accuracy and attention to details are critical
Willingness to take initiative and follow through on tasks and projects
Experience with Great Plains software a plus
