company headquartered in Atlanta has an opening for an Assistant Controller. The Assistant Controller will lead the intercompany accounting process to ensure transactions are reconciled as well as provide the monthly and annual closing of financial records for the purposes of reporting internal and external financials. Other roles and responsibilities of the Assistant Controller
position
include but are not limited to interaction with Business operations in the US and International regions, fixed assets management, reviewing of all accounting and GL accounts, creating and posting journal entries, providing monthly reconciliations, and assisting in the creation of the annual budget.
Qualified candidates will have:
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
Minimum of 7
years relevant experience required
Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Sarbanes Oxley (SOX)
Good
computer
and software knowledge essential, including Excel and Word and Great Plains, SAP, and/or Oracle preferred
CPA certification preferred
Strong leadership, interaction, and communication skills required
Public/private industry including SEC Reporting experience desirable

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
