The Analyst will focus on project based initiatives and problem/ issue resolution in a dynamic but mature environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical , verbal and written communication skills along with a strong desire to create and maintain world class solutions. General duties and
Responsibilities:
o Formulates and defines system scope and objectives through research and fact-finding combined with an understanding of applicable business systems and industry requirements.
o Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering
computer
equipment capacity and limitations, operation time, and form of desired results.
o Includes analysis of business and user needs, documentation of requirements, and translation into proper system requirement specifications.
o Identifies and documents business strategies, objectives and drivers.
o Analyzes and documents business processes and metrics, and identifies improvement opportunities.
o Re-engineers processes to deliver greater effectiveness and efficiency.
o Identifies/documents how applications and systems interact to support business processes.
o Assesses, applies and projects the impact of system changes on users and internal and external clients or stakeholders.
o Uses knowledge of systems and industry requirements to develop or modify complex information systems.
o Writes test plans and test cases to ensure changes which are made to the application meet client needs and that application integrity is maintained.
o Conducts a variety of tests such as system, integration, readiness, and acceptance tests. Ensures that the changes made by programmers are correct. Conducts tests using client data to be certain client needs will be met. Verifies through testing that changes made by programmers to one part of the application do not impact other parts. Reports and reviews testing results.
o Trains internal employees or external clients on changes, new systems or new procedures.
o Considers the business implications of the application of technology to the current business environment.
o Performs other related duties as required.
Education Requirements: A Bachelor's in Information Systems or other related discipline is required General knowledge, skills and abilities requirements:
o Familiar with ACH and payment industry standards
o Good working knowledge of bank back office operations - such as - internet banking - wire transfers, ach, cash sweep, loan servicing etc
o Previous experience doing screen mock ups - (i.e. Visio, html, SnagIt, Photoshop, dream weaver)
o Experience working with COBOL/CICS as well as Java/JEE web applications
o High level of attention to detail
o Highly collaborative and effective working in a team environment
o Highly effective in soliciting input, assessing merits of teams ideas and providing constructive feedback
o Previous experience being a liaison between technical and non-technical team members
o Familiar maintaining Defect Management tracking using tools like CMS (case management system)
o Proficiency in solutions design and requirements definition disciplines leveraging model driven design based tools and techniques including conceptual solution component models, business process models, use cases, etc.
o Excellent verbal and written communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences of various levels in the organization (e.g.,
executive
, management, individual contributors)
o Willingly shares relevant technical and/or industry knowledge and expertise to other resources
o Excellent analytical, decision-making, problem-solving, team, and time management skills
o Ability to persuade and influence others on the best approach to take
o Ability to estimate work effort for project sub-plans or small projects and ensure the project is successfully completed
o Is resourceful and proactive in gathering information and sharing ideasEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
