Reports to Mgr, Advanced Analytics - Predictive Analytics

The arm of this team's mission is to extend knowledge, derive insights, and support a strategic framework to promote innovation, balanced decision-making, and coordinated action across the corporation.

Absolute must have's - at least 5 yrs background in quantitative disciplines and methodologies such as applied and computational statistics, text and data mining, artificial intelligence, econometrics, operations research, psychometrics, experimental design, multivariate analysis, measurement theory, multidimensional scaling, combinatorial data analysis, hierarchical linear models, structural equation models, decision theory, time series analysis and cluster analysis. Experience in creating statistical models in one of the following: P/C Insurance Risk, Claims Automation, Bank Decisioning. Must be able to articulate how what you do relates to the business you work in. Technical skills and the ability to communicate (tell a business story) is important.

Responsibilities:
Engage in the development, interpretation, implementation and support of several different types of statistical modeling and data mining techniques.
Consult with clients on the use of mathematical statistics, assessing modeling needs and defining project scope.
Apply programming skills to make use of
computer
intensive analysis techniques.
Use knowledge of business areas and research skills to address a diverse range of real-world business issues and to solve business problems.
Assist on projects/requests on routine statistical/business/research issues and studies.
Independently extracts and transforms data for use in analysis.
Work with increasing autonomy on requests/projects/problems of complex statistical/business/research issues and studies.
Use knowledge and experience with statistical techniques to specify parameters of modeling project or analysis.
Consults on financial
services
and insurance-related business, regulatory and public policy issues or organizational and human performance issues, or consumer behavior issues.
Develops strategies and methodologies to validate model performance following implementation.

Qualifications:
See must have's
Advanced degree in mathematical discipline.
Knowledge of and experience with at least one major computer programming language, or advanced syntax in a major statistical package.
Expertise in SAS is highly preferred
