Summary:This role will focus on client specific opportunities, leveraging customized end-to-end approaches linking BCD solutions to client objectives in support of BCD Travel s entre into the expense management business. Emphasis will be on client retention and revenue growth through consultation, product sales and collaborative workshops. This is a key business endeavor for BCD Travel and one that has significant growth potential. The Business Development Director must be a highly-motivated entrepreneur that is dynamic and able to work in a self-directed role. This highly visible position will partner with BCD Travel account managers and senior stakeholders to build and deploy customized Expense / End to End approaches in support of our customers. Responsibilities:Business Development:Serve as an active member of the business development and retention teams regarding overall strategic planning for our clients expense management deployment objectives.Develops strategic business relationships at senior level within companies and suppliers on a long term basisCreates plans for expansion of existing client/vendor new business opportunitiesEnsure thorough assessment is completed for all identified opportunitiesDevelop creative and cost effective plans to meet client objectivesWork and communicate with Regional and Local account owners to create bid avoidance and retention plansMeets or exceed individual and divisional retention goals and gross profit margins. Maintains high close and win ratios as assignedIdentifies competitive threats and emerging problems and offersBusiness Plan, Implement key deliverables, measure results:Deliver customized approaches to market to drive client retention and other revenue-generating opportunities.Develop innovative, customized, and cost effective plans to meet national, multinational and global client objectives related to End to End T&E expense management.Co-develop business plans / retention plan, support in implementing key deliverablesEncourage overall client relations exhibit high levels of customer service to ensure smooth operations and long-term client partnerships. Develop positive, respectful, long-term relationships between BCD Travel and clients.Work with leadership to set and implement strategies for retention and growth of assigned accounts.Create an alignment with partners and build a pipeline.Consulting:Make informed and sustainable recommendations to the BCD Travel team(s) and other key stakeholdersCollaborate and communicate with regional and local business owners and sales teams, to create client retention and expansion plans acting as an internal consultant to provide insight.Understand internal landscape noting accounts identified for retention planning and strategic analysis.Working in conjunction with existing BCD Travel account owner(s), prepare plans for account retention and expansion, leveraging BCD tools and services, positive historic results and unique value proposition. Data and Analytical Support:Research, analyze, and capitalize on market opportunities. Minimize effects of competitive activity.Collaborate on business proposals and presentations. Work with teams to develop creative ideas. Work with other BCD Travel management and operational leaders to ensure continued growth in retention, sales, and profitability.CommunicationOrganize, prepare, and participate in client events and training seminars Communicate travel initiatives, travel category results, updates to program or industry to internal teamDocumentation and Administration: Utilize company provided CRM to document, support and communicate activities Provide data and analytical support for all client engagementsPrepare and load client data into a variety of databases by using company specific tools proficientlyConduct benchmarking, trending, data mining and data analytics Support third party data acquisition, reporting software, and a variety of databasesEnsure that the overall integrity of the data for projects is maintainedQualificationsEssential: 10 years experience in working with complex customers in travel, payment and expense industries5 years experience in selling expense management system solutionsAbility to build and work from a business planExcellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to create presentations, messaging and position statements.Ability to interface with internal and external stakeholders with ease.Autonomy through high responsibility and result driven planningProven ability to create strong client partnershipsStrong computer technical aptitude and knowledge of managing results through computer reports/CRM systemsProven track record of meeting and exceeding revenue goalsWell-developed persuasion and influence skills; persistent and disciplined with client follow-upAccurate and timely documentation of client activityConsistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significancePreferred: Experience in start-up, or highly entrepreneurial companies preferredStrong knowledge of the travel management industryBA/BS degree
