Job Title: Food Service/Nutrition Manager
Location: YMCA/Early Childhood Development Co. Atlanta
Supervisor: ECDC Fiscal Director
Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Head Start Fiscal Director the Food Service/Nutrition Manager oversees daily food service operations at Early Childhood Development Head Start Centers (ECDC) in Metro Atlanta and NE Georgia. This position manages a $700,000 Food Grant from the USDA including record keeping and reporting. The position plans and manages menus; designs special diets, conducts nutrition assessments, and confers with staff and parents about nutrition related issues. This position oversees food safety and sanitation and helps to manage the food budget. Keeps required records. Reviews individual child and family nutrition data and develops individual nutrition plans. Maintains and oversees compliance related to State of Georgia institutional food service requirements. Problem solves food waste issues. Consults with center management related to supervision of food service staff including kitchen supervision, records maintenance, purchase and distribution of meals and snacks. Designs and delivers training for staff and families related to nutrition.
MINIMUM
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in food science/nutrition, business management, hotel and restaurant management, institutional food services management or related field. A Master's degree is preferred. The applicant MUST be a licensed dietician and have a minimum three years of experience preferably in institutional food services. Experience in grant funded food programs is preferred but not required. Great attention to detail is required in this position. Supervision of others is a plus. The Food Service/Nutrition Manager must be able to communicate effectively to both management and kitchen staff. Must be able to travel to all locations in Georgia where there is ECDC food service. Must pass a criminal background check and drug screen. Must be able to work in a diverse environment and must be able to legally work in the U.S. and provide documentation prior to hire.

Ergonomic Requirements:
Must be able to lift 15 pounds. Limited stooping, bending, reaching as would be required in a food service environment. Must be able to travel to remote locations outside of Metro Atlanta. Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing.
