JOB SUMMARY
Participate as a member of the interdisciplinary team in assessing, implementing, planning and evaluating patient care services through a collaborative practice with designated physicians. To proactively support the efforts that ensures delivery of safe patient care and services and to promote a safe environment at Children's.
EDUCATION
Masters Degree in Nursing
CERTIFICATION SUMMARY
RN license in the state of Georgia.
Certification as N.P/P.N.P. required.
BLS certification is required within six months of hire date.
EXPERIENCE
No minimum experience required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in pediatric ambulatory surgery setting is preferred
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides comprehensive care to patients based on the functions and duties as outlined in the Practice Agreement/Protocols contract.
Provides appropriate follow-up with patient/family, private physician and/or other resources.
Initiates patient care plans, including medical and pharmacological management as needed, as identified in the NP Scope of Practice.
Participates in research and incorporates its findings into practice.
Provide and/or serve as resource for patient/family and staff education.
While clinical staff may serve a specific patient population, they have the potential to care for patients within the age population range served at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. Clinical staff will have competencies that will incorporate age specific guidelines. This age population includes: N = Neonate (less than 30 days), I = Infant (30 days to 1 year), EC = Early Childhood (1-5 years), LC = Late Childhood (5-13 years), A = Adolescent (13-17 years), AD = Adult, ALL - all ages.
The licensed caregiver includes family/caregiver in patient care and provides effective education appropriate for learning needs of patient and family.
SYSTEM RESPONSIBILITIES
Safety: Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for the reporting of employee/patient/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to the supervisor and in the occurrence notification system.
Compliance: Monitors and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and policies and procedures related to area of responsibility. Identifies potential risk areas within area of responsibility and supports problem resolution process. Maintains records of compliance activities and reports compliance activities to the Compliance Office.
