Job Summary
Under the direction of Director of assigned brand, develop and implement strategic brand plans and execute major initiatives to achieve overall brand objectives. Design and develop global brand experiences aligned with the brand strategy. Support the development of the brand vision, strategy and brand framework. Monitor the performance and relevancy of the brand and advise senior leadership. Work with appropriate centers of excellence to design services, tools, communications programs and appropriately allocate resources to meet action plans.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Review and analyze global market and industry data to understand current trends within the brand and make recommendations to senior leadership
Develop strategic initiatives to achieve global brand objectives.
Assist Director of brand with developing brand vision, strategy, and framework.
Effectively communicate initiatives to project teams, regional brand organizations, and, at times, hotels.
Manage cross-functional teams or work cross-functionally to execute service, communications, and product initiatives across the brand.
Manage agencies selected for product and promotion design work.
Work with upper management and key stakeholders to gain support and input into global service and product initiatives.
May coach and develop team members; hire, fire, assess, discipline, document performance, recommend salary and classification changes. Act as an advisor to subordinate managers or staff to help meet established schedules and/or resolve technical or operational problems.
Directly involved in the design and implementation of global brand initiatives to include areas of product, service, and/or communications.
Track performance against plan and identify issues that impact performance.
Create and maintain a communication protocol that supports Strategic Priorities and allows ample time for regions to develop plans to execute against the priorities.
Support strategic planning efforts for the effective management and growth of the brand
Education
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Marketing, Hospitality, or a relevant field of work or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
Experience
6 to 10 years progressive work related experience in brand or marketing management with a large and/or global brand. Experience should include development of global brand processes, products and/or communications as well as demonstrated experience and confidence working across diverse cultures. Will also have demonstrated experience/exposure to multiple business functions, as well as experience involving a marketing focus in a multi-brand environment.
Technical Skills and Knowledge
Demonstrated project leadership experience in organizing, planning and executing large-scale projects from conception through implementation. The majority of projects are cross-regional and cross-functional and therefore require a high-level of both impact and influence skills and project management skills.
Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to influence key internal and external stakeholders including senior management. Because the majority of the work in this position is innovative and therefore can be controversial, must be able to present and defend a point of view clearly and articulately, react appropriately to unexpected reactions, etc.
Demonstrated knowledge of branding and brand management, including research methodology and design , product and/or creative development Demonstrated organization and management development, including demonstrated ability to think strategically and develop/implement organizational initiatives.
Demonstrated ability to develop consumer understanding based on research and existing trends
Demonstrated creative problem solving ability and demonstrated creative thinking skills as evidenced by prior projects and/or campaigns.
Other Information
Majority of work is performed in a normal office environment.
Some travel required (20-30%).
