We are seeking an Accountant at our Corporate Headquarters in Atlanta, GA to support our Accounting Services team.
The Accountant position will be responsible for a variety of accounting duties for the Packaging and Cellulose Segment, which allows gaining knowledge and experience for advancement to positions of greater responsibility and technical ability throughout the company. The successful candidate must be self-directed, able to manage multiple projects, set priorities and meet deadlines. Strong presentation skills and a desire to acquire new proficiencies are keys to this position.

A Day In The Life Typically Includes:
Responsibilities:
Perform balance sheet account reconciliations
Investigate differences and determine resolution to resolve discrepancies
Perform month-end closing activities -intercompany balancing, journal entries, accruals, etc in a timely and accurate manner, ensure compliance with company policies and meet closing deadlines
Prepare input for LIFO reporting
Collaborate with business contacts to calculate customer rebate
Work with internal/external auditors to assist with requests/questions
Participate in special financial projects and process improvement initiatives
Participate in physical counts of inventory stored at third party warehouses
What You Will Need:
Education Required:
Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance or Business
GPA of 3.0 or above in Accounting coursework
Basic
Qualifications:
General understanding of GAAP and overall accounting functions (GL, AR, AP, Inventory, etc.)
Basic understanding of intercompany transactions, and month end closing
Conceptual understanding of the design and purpose of internal controls
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel spreadsheet creation/editing, pivot tables, data manipulation/analysis and formula creation etc., Access-query, and PowerPoint presentation creation/editing)
Preferred
Qualifications:
At least ONE year of accounting or financial analysis experience
Infinium knowledge a plus
Experience with LIFO reporting
Experience providing timely information and service to internal business customers and auditors
Experience preparing variance analysis and providing explanations
Experience in Public Accounting, Large Company Corporate Accounting, or Manufacturing Environment
Knowledge Skills Abilities:
Highly motivated, proactive, willingness to engage and partner
Financial acumen to be utilized toward financial statement analysis
Able to prioritize his/her own workload to ensure optimal outcome
Strong customer focus with analytical, financial and economic thinking skills
Detail oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail

Basic self-awareness and an understanding of how personal behavior impacts others
