Job Description:
IT Infrastructure Analyst position on the Virtualization Infrastructure team is responsible for design, sizing, integration, implementation, and support of virtualization solutions and related back-end hardware, software and tools to ensure the availability, performance, and integrity of global infrastructure environment.
Typical responsibilities involve analyzing and monitoring system health, ensuring capacity planning is performed, setting infrastructure operational standards and procedures, performing systems tuning, securing, troubleshooting and repairing complex issues with these systems 24X7, and understanding the technical and business aspects of creating and/or modifying an effective strategic technology plan as well as executing these strategic plans within technology lifecycle efforts.
The candidate will assist with the administration, support, and maintenance of a large VMware environment.
Activities will include the following:
Apply firmware and driver updates to servers Apply software and security updates to ESXi hosts Assist with software upgrade projects and migration activities Assist with day-to-day support and service requests, including some troubleshooting May include after-hours on-call responsibilities The candidate will work with knowledgeable, seasoned staff members who will provide guidance and oversight on internal processes, standards, and methodologies.
