As the Senior Lease Accountant for the Real Estate Accounting team, you would help with property leases, including the buildings and equipment for this Fortune 500 company.
Anytime a lease is signed, this team does the accounting for it.
They just implemented the Accounting system for the new ASC842 standard, so now, they need to be ready for disclosures, making sure everything is correct and ready for year end.
If you are extremely comfortable with the new ASC842 standard, and have Lease Accounting experience, please keep reading! Duties:
Work on drafting the Sox narrative (Control) for equipment lease accounting.
Work on our Reporting group on the content of the disclosures needed for Pre-adoption (2018 YE 10-K), and Post-adoption(2019 Q1 10-Q).
Test Equipment schedule received from business partners in the software (Lucernex) to ensure accounting accuracy.
Work on creating system reports to identify variances between our software (Lucernex) and the Enterprise system (SAP).
Work on creating ASC842 Transition documentation to record steps and milestones of the process.
Document the new process and training materials.
Review current and new Equipment account reconciliations -- that are prepared by others - in Blackline.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
