Attorney-Adviser

Under the administrative supervision of the Legal Office Chief, General and Criminal Law Branch, Office of the Regional Counsel, you will provide legal advice to Agency managers and supervisors on employment, personnel, and labor law matters, including issues arising under:
-the Civil Service Reform Act of 1978, as amended;-the Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967, as amended;-the Equal Pay Act of 1963;-the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended; the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990;-the Whistleblower Protection Act of 1989; the Whistleblower Protection Enhancement Act of 2012; the whistleblower protection provisions of a wide range of environmental statutes;- the Federal Service Labor-Management Relations Statute, as amended;- the Labor Management Relations Act of 1947, as amended and- Other relevant statutes, Executive Orders, regulations, policies, and procedures. Applicant must have an LL.B. or J.D. degree from an accredited law school; must be admitted to practice before the highest court of a State, U.S. territory, the District of Columbia, or the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico; and must maintain active status as a member of the bar of one of these jurisdictions. The incumbent must have substantial experience in providing legal advice and counsel in federal labor and employment law. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge of federal labor and employment law in the areas stated in the DUTIES Section.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
