Scientific Information Specialist

As a Scientific Information Specialist you will:
Collect, analyze and interpret highly specialized scientific data as part of epidemiological studies. Perform complex analytical studies and interpretation of results to coordinate the evaluation of scientific programs, methods, and policies to recommend improvements or changes to program or policies. Design, implement, conduct, and analyze surveillance and scientific data. Develop and maintain standard SAS programs to ensure accurate and consistent presentation of surveillance data. Basic Qualifications GS-12/13:
Applicants must have a bachelor's or graduate/higher level degree:
major study in an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position. This degree must be from an educational program from an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (external link) at the time the degree was obtained. Minimum Qualifications GS-12:
Applicants have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 in the Federal service as defined in the next paragraph. Specialized experience is experience which is directly related to the position which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs) to successfully perform the duties of the position to include experience in conducting analytical studies and interpreting results to coordinate the evaluation of scientific programs, methods, and policies to recommend improvements or changes. Minimum Qualifications GS-13:
Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 in the Federal service as defined in the next paragraph. Specialized experience is experience which is directly related to the position which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs) to successfully perform the duties of the position to include experience in providing expert technical technical and/or statistical support in the development and use of databases related to the surveillance and/or prevention of HIV infection.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
