Administrative Officer

Overseeing or coordinating a full range of administrative activities in a multi-tasking environment such as ensuring the proper functioning of office equipment and orientation/exit processing of staff.Serving as an in-line supervisor by assigning work to subordinates, establishing priorities, ensuring timely and quality completion of work, interpreting and applying procedures and guidelines for work, providing coaching and feedback, providing input to performance appraisals, approving leave and certifying time cards, and recommending awards and other recognition for subordinates.Managing day-to-day activities for GAO business processes such as time/attendance processing, travel reimbursement and compliance, and procurements; assisting with the development of and ensuring compliance with process procedures; serving as a reviewer for business processes for quality assurance and acting as back-up in executing these functions, when necessary.Maintaining, monitoring, and reconciling the field office budget; overseeing preparation of purchase orders, procurement, and payment of small purchases for supplies and services; and, serving as payment approver for purchase card transactions.Working with building management and/or the General Services Administration on routine maintenance issues affecting a field office, assisting the Field Office Manager with office renovation or relocations, serving as the Property Control Officer, and overseeing inventory control.Providing direct customer support for all routine administrative and business processes conducted in a field office of which some may be sensitive or complex; instructing staff--formally and informally--about administrative processes, such as those for time/attendance, and travel; and assisting with the maintenance of the field office's internal website.Overseeing physical and informational security as the designated Security Officer, including maintaining security codes, ensuring proper oversight of classified workspace, tools, and materials in accordance with GAO policies and procedures; responding to security alarms; serving on building security and emergency committees; serving as the designated Health and Safety Representative; and, assisting the Field Office Manager with emergency preparedness activities and drills. Applicants must have one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower level/band, equivalent to the AC-III, PT-I, PE-I, PA-I, CS-I or GS-11 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that demonstrates knowledge of and the ability to perform a wide variety of administrative functions and services such as handling routine building maintenance issues, applying physical and information security policies and procedures, and/or monitoring, maintaining, and reconciling an office budget. Prior professional experience must demonstrate the ability to plan, organize, and control work involving diverse administrative activities, as well as the ability to gain cooperation and coordinate the work of others. Customer service skills as well written and oral communication skills are also required. You must meet all qualifications requirements before the announcement closes.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
