JOB SUMMARY

Participates as a member of the interdisciplinary team in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating comprehensive patient care services. Proactively supports the efforts that will ensure delivery of safe patient care and services and promotes a safe environment at Children s. Works with the multidisciplinary team to assist in the organization and provision of health care needs ranging from uncomplicated to highly complex. The scope of responsibility will encompass independent decision making, leadership skills, and projects to benefit the department in collaboration with the Assistant Nurse Manager and/or Manager.

EDUCATION

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing

CERTIFICATION SUMMARY

  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the single State of Georgia or Multi-State through the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact

  • BLS certification is required within 30 days of hire
  • PALS certification within one year of hire as required by clinical unit

EXPERIENCE

  • No minimum experience required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors of nursing degree
  • Previous Pediatric experience

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Must be able to successfully pass the Basic Windows skills Assessment at 80% or higher rating within 30 days of date of hire

Mandatory Requirements

  • Achieves 75% attendance at staff/clinical meetings as applicable
  • Attends minimum of 8 hours job-related education
  • Completes mandatory education requirements as defined by unit/system by due date
  • Completes unit-specific orientation successfully /provides documentation
  • Works leadership team to develop a schedule that may include evening/ weekends/ holidays as determined staffing guidelines and/or needs (on-call scheduling may be implemented during high-volume census times)

  9. Participates in educational process related to healthcare/coordinates discharge planning.
  10. Reads nursing research/evidence-based practice articles.

SYSTEM RESPONSIBILITIES

Safety:
Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for the reporting of employee/patient/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to the supervisor and in the occurrence notification system.

Compliance:
Monitors and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and policies and procedures related to area of responsibility. Identifies potential risk areas within area of responsibility and supports problem resolution process. Maintains records of compliance activities and reports compliance activities to the Compliance Office.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
