JOB SUMMARY

Manages personnel and implements and operationalizes process controls for Children s Healthcare of Atlanta's integrated inventory and delivery network, consisting of one or more of the following - Central Distribution Center (DIW), System Hospitals, Support I and II, Surgical Services, and satellite locations. Identifies and resolves opportunities and integrates efforts between all parties to provide seamless flow of product throughout the entire supply chain, ensuring the right product at the right place at the right time. Actively promotes an environment and culture focused on customer service, safety, analytics, technology and cooperation by working with functional areas across the organization to ensure appropriate communication, involvement, and decision-making.

EDUCATION

Bachelor s degree or equivalent in Logistics, Engineering, Business, Materials Management or related field

CERTIFICATION SUMMARY

CMRP Preferred

EXPERIENCE

3 years people management experience
5 years inventory control/purchasing experience in an OR environment (for OR only)
5 years logistics and inventory management experience
Experience in enterprise resource planning

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience in healthcare
Experience in data mining and analysis
Experience with Lawson, Workday and Omnicell preferred
Knowledge of proper sterilization techniques and standards (for OR only)
Experience in managing supplies across multiple OR Service Lines, i.e., Cardiac, Neuro, etc. (for OR only)
Experience with Physician Preference Cards and OR supplies (for OR only)
Experience with Warehousing and Fleet Management (for Central Dist only)

High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Access database
Experience in inventory management and enterprise resource planning systems
Experience in logistics & inventory management and enterprise resource planning systems
Experience formulating, managing, reporting, and reconciling budget accounts with integrity and successful outcomes
Provides excellent service routinely in interactions with all customers, i.e., coworkers, patients, visitors, physicians, volunteers, etc.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Establishes collaborative, value-based relationships with business partners, obtaining feedback on an ongoing basis.
2. Leads and actively participates in inventory planning activities through collaborative, value - based relationships with business partners (Service Lines, other Supply Chain Managers, Clinical Operations, and business partners) by working closely and obtaining feedback on an ongoing basis.
3. Manages the integrated delivery network of internal Supply Chain support, including the master schedule for shipping, delivery, receiving, materials handling, and fulfillment at the Central Distribution Center, hospital campuses, and throughout the system as a synchronized logistics pipeline.
4. Operationalizes Inventory control policies and standing operating procedures (i.e. cycle counts, rotation practices, expiration checks).
5. Establish best practice space mapping, delivery schedules, unloading/receiving procedures, order picking, returns and stocking standards. Participates in development of system policies, procedures and training to support best practices.
6. Participates in the development and leads location s implementation of emergency plans including recalls and disasters.
7. Leads teams to complete Physical Inventory and assist in location discrepancy resolution, root cause analysis, process improvements and corrective action plans.
8. Maximizes use of existing inventory control system and recommends/employs additional technology where appropriate and practical.
9. Develops and leads programing in support of KPIs, for efficient and cost-effective operations and utilization of facilities and labor, ensuring accuracy, productivity, and timeliness.
10. Operationalizes inventory control policies and training
11. Leads network Supply Chain staff, driving accountability, communicating job performance standards with timely feedback, standardizing processes, eliminating unnecessary activities, coaching behavior, and motivating the team toward continuous improvement in quality, attendance, safety, and productivity.
12. Manages and leads team including:
interviewing, hiring, training, developing, directing work and processes, managing performance, recognizing, and rewarding employees.
13. Develop programs to ensure efficient and cost effective operations and utilization of facilities and labor.
14. Assist Inventory Control Manager to maximize use of existing inventory control system and recommend/employ additional technology where appropriate and practical. Target areas of forecasting, demand management, inventory control, cost reduction, product standardization/customization and creative solutions to enhance logistics operations
15. Dock management:
Inbound and Outbound Shipments including receiving of Purchase order into ERP system
16. Manages Supply Chain Fleet, including vehicle maintenance, safety and system level policy and procedures. (Central Distribution only)
17. Procures and manages supplies for the for the Service Line including consignment and Bill Only. Manages process to keep OpTime and Lawson appropriately linked (OR only)
18. Routinely collaborates with OR service lines to ensure right products available for cases, clean preference cards, and gain knowledge of future technology interest. (OR only)

SYSTEM RESPONSIBILITIES

Safety:
Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for the reporting of employee/patient/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to the supervisor and in the occurrence notification system.

Compliance:
Monitors and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and policies and procedures related to area of responsibility. Identifies potential risk areas within area of responsibility and supports problem resolution process. Maintains records of compliance activities and reports compliance activities to the Compliance Office.
