JOB SUMMARY

Provide individual treatment plan of care, therapeutic interventions, and quality patient safety monitoring services under supervision of a licensed professional.

EDUCATION

High school diploma or equivalent

CERTIFICATION SUMMARY

Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of employment
Completion of Marcus Crisis Prevention Program within 90 days of hire

EXPERIENCE

1 year experience working in a healthcare setting

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor s preferred
Experience working in a mental health or behavioral health setting
Psychology or healthcare related academic course or certifications
Mental health technician certification

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES

Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills
Must be able to remain calm and manage verbal/physical responses in stressful situations
Must be able to successfully pass the Basic Windows Skills Assessment at 80% or higher rating within 30 days of employment

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Implements plan of care interventions as established by Behavioral Health Care Team
2. Maintain a safe environment for the patient through situational awareness, crisis prevention strategies and plan of care-initiated interventions
3. Complies and promotes compliance with all behavioral health related policies and guidelines to protect patient, self and others from harm
4. May perform/document components of safety monitoring and general care needs (behavior support interventions, eating, hydration, and/or elimination).
5. Accurately documents data collected & behaviors observed on assigned patient in EMR, according to established time frames
6. Establish and maintain a therapeutic relationship with behavioral and mental health patients
7. Monitors for behavior changes and employs crisis prevention and de-escalation strategies
8. May accompany patient to medical procedures to maintain therapeutic interventions and behavioral support
9. Participates in transfer of care; communicates any special considers, care priorities, and support needs as appropriate.
10. Maintains patients rights, including the privacy and security of all confidential and protected health information
11. Performs other responsibilities as required

PROFESSIONAL MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS
1. Completes orientation and initial assessment of competency successfully by determined due date.
2. Completes mandatory education and annual competency assessment requirements as defined by unit and system by due date.
3. Achieves 75% of staff meetings if applicable

SYSTEM RESPONSIBILITIES

Safety:
Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for the reporting of employee/patient/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to the supervisor and in the occurrence notification system.Compliance:
Monitors and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and policies and procedures related to area of responsibility. Identifies potential risk areas within area of responsibility and supports problem resolution process. Maintains records of compliance activities and reports compliance activities to the Compliance Office.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
