JOB SUMMARY

Develops, executes and manages high-level, complex and large-scale initiatives and projects related to Aflac Cancer & Blood Disorders Center goals. Leads strategic plan development, system integration, and implementation support management. Manages and reports the deliverables, status, and quality elements throughout the lifecycle for projects that may span multiple functions, departments, and processes. Helps to ensure that scope for all projects is in line with goals and that quality projects are delivered on time. Manages team of data management coordinators and provides guidance and support to center project managers. Works closely with Vice President, Aflac Cancer & Blood Disorders Center to ensure decisions are implemented and strategic goals are met.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor s degree in Healthcare Administration, Computer Science, Business, health service, or related field

EXPERIENCE

  • 5 years of experience in project management with progressive responsibility

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in project management in a healthcare environment
  • 2 years of experience in supervision or lead project management
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)

  • Proficient at an expert level in Microsoft Project or comparable project management software
  • Proficient at a high level in the use Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Able to demonstrate organizational, analytical, fiscal management, and time management skills
  • Highly skilled in communication, problem-solving and conflict resolution
  • Excellent verbal and writing skills for executive communications and project reporting
  • Able to develop and maintain good working relationships and interact positively and productively with teams, including administrative and executive staff
  • Able to function in a dynamic environment subject to impromptu changes in schedules, priorities, and project scope
  • Able to lead projects from inception to completion with minimal management supervision and to assist other team members in learning these skills

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Develops and monitors detailed implementation plans and ensures flawless implementation in support of Center strategy decisions.
  2. Maintains robust project management tracking process, regularly provides updates on projects, and escalates appropriate issues in professional and timely manner.
  3. Creates effective presentations for executive-level communications and facilitates meetings that have clear objectives and meaningful outcomes.
  4. Provides high-level consultative, technical, and decision-making support to Vice President, Aflac Cancer & Blood Disorders Center.
  5. Works collaboratively with internal and external resources
  6. Provides project portfolio management services and support.
  7. Oversees multiple implementation projects concurrently, providing leadership support to assigned project managers.
  8. Supervises data management coordinators and guides project managers by providing implementation and leadership direction.
  9. Directly manages critical projects as needed.
  10. Takes a lead role in documenting project management protocols, procedures, and guidelines.
  11. Provides implementation services independently, including project management, strategic planning, rollout support, system selection, and operational planning.
  12. Acts as point of escalation for project managers and team members.
  13. Oversees team status reporting and escalates issues and resource needs.
  14. Manages the development and progress of project plans, including master schedule, budget impact, resource allocation, and risk management.
  15. Communicates project plans and milestones with all project team members, users, and other parties.
  16. Establishes internal support for methods used.
  17. Manages project management expectations effectively, involving the right partners at the right time to accomplish collective goals and ensure that projects remain in line with operational goals.
  18. Responsible for all aspects of managing and leading a team including:
    interviewing, hiring, training, developing, directing work and processes, managing performance, recognizing, and rewarding employees.
  19. Mentor team members to encourage personal and professional growth.
  20. Encourage ongoing skill development by providing opportunities for continued education.

SYSTEM RESPONSIBILITIES

Safety:
Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for the reporting of employee/patient/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to the supervisor and in the occurrence notification system.

Compliance:
Monitors and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and policies and procedures related to area of responsibility. Identifies potential risk areas within area of responsibility and supports problem resolution process. Maintains records of compliance activities and reports compliance activities to the Compliance Office.
