Assistant Accessory Buyer

Job Description

Havertys Furniture is adding an Assistant Accessory Buyer to join our corporate buying team in Atlanta.
You will assist in maintaining an effective merchandising plan for all accessory categories:
rugs, wall decor, lighting, linens, decorative accents, and florals and trees.
Help Havertys Furniture achieve our goal of providing home decor that furnish happiness to our customers.

As an Assistant Accessory Buyer you will:

  • Assist the Accessory Buyer in selecting and maintaining all items in all accessory categories.
  • Send monthly sales information to major vendors.
  • Maintain and distribute visual and display aids to the retail store including; top of bed signs, rug blanket holders, special order rug squares, etc.
  • Enter and maintain all approved pricing changes.
  • Put together information needed to set up new items, review and approve silo photography, maintain setting correlations- identifying accessory and furniture drops and ensuring all accessories are correlated with active furniture groups.
  • Create floor sample transfers, keep all special-order price lists updated and posted.
  • Create and maintain all visual aids for the accessory displays:
    pillow schematic, rug rack line up, decorative accent groups, and track online only vendor inventory.

Job Requirements

We Want:

  • Knowledge and interest in learning all accessory procedures:
    SKU maintenance, communicating with and answering questions from the stores, developing accessory informational presentations on new and upcoming items, clearance items, new programs, supplementary training, social media and marketing ideas.
  • A communicator, who likes on point communication with Havertys accessory vendors, Havertys stores, other Home Office departments, internal photography studio, and our marketing & content agency.
  • You may have up to 25% travel to product markets, Havertys stores, vendor visits as needed.

You Have:

  • Bachelor s Degree in Merchandising, Business, Interior Design, or related field.
  • Experience in Furniture, Home D cor, Housewares, Gifts, Interior Design, or Fashion
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Microsoft Excel
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to work independently, excellent time management, analytical and organizational skills
  • Detail Oriented
  • Ability to travel up to 25% (with occasional weekends)
