Summary:
The Supply Planning Manager is responsible for identifying and implementing initiatives designed to improve upstream and downstream inventory and replenishment management processes; includes the ability to review historical consumption trends, research demand drivers, generate and translate forecast and demand data into alignment with inventory models, and recommend required changes to ensure high levels of fulfillment while minimizing inventory costs.
This position will oversee areas of material management functions along the supply chain; responsible for demand planning, supply planning, and inventory replenishment.
Responsibilities:
Maintains open and direct communication with the internal box plants to ensure complete understanding of their needs and requirements while coordinating with sourcing, production planning and logistics to optimize the supply chain efficiency and costs.
Proactively identifies issues that may inhibit successful delivery performance and drives actions to resolve potential failures before they occur.
Optimizes the inventory velocity and minimizes obsolete and aged inventoryManages and continually improves the demand management process.
Accurately forecast amount of inventory needed based on product specifications, historical consumption, and current inventory on a long- & short-term periodHire, train and mentor new supply planners.
Work across peer group to lead and participate in major process improvement activitiesEnsures the creation of accurate SKU forecasts; manage parameters to execute replenishment strategies; and achieve target in-stock levelsResponsible to develop creative solutions to material flow and supply chain management challenges.
Optimize supply/chain logistics costs- balancing inventory requirements with cost to serve, understanding impact to product flow.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal customersProvide data, analysis and reporting to support strategic decision making.
Challenges status quo with an informed data driven point of viewCollaboratively develop roles, responsibilities, and expectations for each direct report; providing continual performance-based feedbackAbility to write reports, effectively present information and respond to questions from different levels of managementDevelop a dashboard of critical inventory management metrics for review and discussion with plant manager on a quarterly basis.
Ability to define problem, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
Acts, leads, or participates in process improvement teams in resolution of issues and reporting of effectiveness.
Engage in ongoing quantitative analyses to identify opportunities to lower inventory total costs and determine appropriate service levels of critical SKUs.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, relevant studies, or commensurate experience, in addition to a minimum of 3-5 years' experience the management of Customer FulfillmentPrevious supervisory/management experience requiredExperience in customer planning and/or supply planning/inventory managementDemonstrated ability to facilitate and deliver tactical results through people and parties not in direct reporting lines, and effectively work through cross-functional teams to drive process improvementsHighly detail oriented with strong analytical and problem solving skillsCatalyst for change; process mapping and improvement capabilitiesProficient user of computer applications including Excel, PowerPoint and inventory management models If this sounds great to you and you think you fit in, please submit your application.
