Vehicle Description Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this 1988 Porsche 944 Celebration Edition, one of only 250 offered in Zermatt Silver over plaid Porsche Studio cloth interior (the other 250 produced, for a total production run of 500 special edition cars in the U.
S.
market, were black).
Paint and body remain in good condition with no known rust issues; the rockers are bent in a few spots due to improper jacking over the years, but otherwise there's no damage to note.
Phone Dial wheels were recently professionally refinished and present as new.
Three owners, 85k miles, clean CarFax with no accidents.
We love the Porsche Studio plaid cloth interior; the original fabric has held up quite well, aside from minor wear on the passenger seat bolster - a few yards of matching upholstery are included with the sale should the next owner choose to have the seat (or just that panel) re-done.
Period Pioneer cassette stereo is working.
A/C has been converted to R-134a and is blowing cold.
This 944 runs well - it's easily among the best balanced cars of the 1980s and is always a pleasure to drive.
This one has been well maintained and has no known service needs.
Water pump was done in 2016 at 81k miles, timing belt in 2018 at 82k, plus recent transmission service, oil service, new radiator, and both hood and hatch struts.
In short, this is a clean and well-maintained example out of enthusiast ownership that's ready to be driven and enjoyed, with the added benefit of being a limited edition with a cool interior and great exterior color (Porsche offered the Celebration Edition of fewer than 1,000 cars worldwide to celebrate the 100,000th 944 produced).
