Includes Original Case. $999 FREE USA SHIPPING Vintage Alvarez Deluxe Bowtie 5 string Banjo MADE IN JAPAN This is a gorgeous Alvarez Deluxe Bowtie Banjo that was made in Japan in the 1970's. This has been fully inspected and set up at the Banjo Warehouse in Atlanta Georgia. ALL OF OUR SALES INCLUDE FREE USA SHIPPING AND A 7 DAY SATISFACTION GUARANTEE Description Japanese instrument manufacturers were outperforming American builders in the 1970's. This is absolutely a high quality banjo and it was made at a time in Japan when they were striving to be the best and succeeding.This has a maple shell with a rosewood neck and resonator. The rosewood has a really good chance at being Brazilian Rosewood. The hardware is chrome and this has a one piece flange. The fretboard is rosewood with Bow Tie inlay. There is black and checker binding on each side of the neck and resonator. The hardware is all original and this has a full size tone ring, engraved armrest and engraved tailpiece. There is some other decorative work on the resonator and headstock which really looks nice. This is a really attractive banjo that is made with high quality standards. This also has the original case which is a really nice plus.We have added a geared 5th string tuner because the 5th string tuners on these old Japanese banjos weren't that great. This is all original otherwise.When these banjos are put together properly they can be phenomenal instruments and we go through every banjo that comes through here. Condition This is in great shape and has been professionally cleaned at the Banjo Warehouse. This has been disassembled and all of the hardware buffed to a glow. The finish looks great and has been waxed to a shine. The fretboard has been cleaned and oiled as well.There is some sort of blemish on the headstock by the 3rd string tuning key. That is definitely the most serious wear. The frets are in fantastic shape and there are no spikes or 5th string capo. The original case is also clean. Set Up We professionally set up every Banjo that comes through our shop. This has a new Remo frosted head which has been set to 90 on a drum dial. The bridge is a New Huber Bridge and this has correct intonation. The strings are new Huber Truetone .10 gauge strings and the action is set nicely.
