Includes Original Hardshell Case. $4899 2003 Gibson RB4 5 string Banjo This is a stunning 2003 RB4 Banjo that is all original. This has been fully inspected, cleaned and set up at the Banjo Warehouse in Atlanta Georgia. ALL OF OUR SALES INCLUDE A 7 DAY FULL SATISFACTION GUARANTEE Description The RB4 is one of the more rare models for Gibson and this is an exceptional example of that banjo. This is all original and super clean with a clean original hardshell case.This has a 3 ply hard rock maple shell with a burled walnut neck and resonator. The hardware is nickel and all original including a Gibson USA one piece flange and an original Gibson Tone ring. The fretboard is rosewood and has a Flying Eagle inlay pattern. There is w/b/w binding on each side of the neck and resonator along with more inlay on the headstock. This banjo is definitely in superb condition and includes an original Gibson Hardshell Case. Condition The condition is remarkable and this has also been professionally cleaned at the Banjo Warehouse. The banjo was disassembled and I buffed all of the metal to a nice shine. The wood has been waxed and now glows. A lot of RB4 banjos from this era will have some really bad finish cracking in the resonator which this does not have. The neck and fretboard are in great shape with frets that are in great shape also. There are spikes at frets 7,9,10 and 12. The only real wear is on the headstock there is a mark that something must have been attached to the headstock which left an impression. This is pictured. That is basically impossible to see without the headstock being angled in the correct lighting. This is definitely super clean with a clean original case. Set Up This has been set up at the Banjo Warehouse as well. This has a new Huber frosted head by Remo which is set to 90. The bridge is an original Gibson bridge (which is super rare). The strings are new Huber Truetone .10 gauge strings and the banjo plays great!! This is a fast player with lots of dark tone. RB4 banjos are unique to say the least.
